An employer pleaded guilty to an Occupational Health and Safety Regulations violation in Assiniboia Provincial Court recently.

According to the Government of Saskatchewan, Bill Goodtrack pleaded guilty on Sept. 8 to “being an employer at a place of employment, failing to provide any information, instruction, training, and supervision that is necessary to protect the health and safety of workers at work, resulting in a serious injury to a worker.”

Goodtrack was fined $10,000 plus a $4,000 surcharge for a total of $14,000.

The charge was a result of an incident that took place three years ago in Wood Mountain. A worker suffered serious injuries on Nov. 14, 2019, after making contact with an energized power line.
