The Swift Current Hutterite Colony dealing with the aftermath of a fire last night.
Swift Current Rural RCMP and Fire Department responded to a fire in the chicken barn.
There were no injuries reported but the building was completely destroyed in the blaze.
The fire spread rapidly killing approximately 1,000 chicks.
The exact cause of the fire is unknown, but is not considered suspicious.
Swift Current Rural Fire Department and members of the Swift Current Hutterite Colony contained the fire to the chicken barn, preventing it from spreading further.
The exact value of the building is also unknown at this time.
