Saskatchewan artist Belle Plaine will be taking the stage this evening at the Sky Center along with the Regina Symphony Chamber Players (RSCP).

Born near Rose Valley, Saskatchewan, Belle spent the beginning of her career singing in local talent/music festivals and weddings.

In terms of musical influences Belle says Dolly Parton has been an influence from as far back as she can remember and as she has gotten older, Belle has also developed a love for Americana, Jazz and Blues music and enjoys listening to Jazz artists such as Peggy Lee and Nina Simon.

2017 was a busy year for Belle and 2018 looks to be the same. She spent much of 2017 recording a new album and touring with her partner Blake Berglund for his album release of "Realms" which Belle was a vocalist and co-writer on. 2018 will see the touring continue and the release of Belle's new album in the Spring.

In terms of the show at the Sky Center tonight, Belle Plaine will be performing with the RSCP as part of the Stars For Saskatchewan series and will also be bringing her own band along. Belle says the concert will showcase herself as well as the RSCP and she is looking forward to playing with them for the third time this year.

The concert begins this evening at 7:30pm.
