Justin Lies had a goal and an assist to lead the Flin Flon Bombers back to the SJHL's Canterra Seeds Cup final with a 5-1 win over the Battlefords North Stars on Tuesday to complete a four-game sweep of the league semi-final. 

Koen Senft, Matt Egan, Anthony Piccininno and former Swift Current Bronco Adam McNutt also scored for the Bombers, who advanced to the championship final for a third straight season. 

Meanwhile, Cage Newans scored in triple overtime to lift the Humboldt Broncos to a 3-2 win over the Melfort Mustangs, who still lead the series 2-1 with game four tonight in Humboldt.

Connor's OT winner lifts Jets over Preds

Kyle Connor scored in overtime to give the Winnipeg Jets a 4-3 road win over the Nashville Predators in Tuesday's NHL action. Mark Scheifele added a goal and two assists for the Jets, who won their fourth in a row. The overtime loss did help the Nashville clinch a playoff spot. The Preds have made the post-season in nine of the last ten years.

Elsewhere, Auston Matthews scored his 66th goal of the season as the Toronto Maple Leafs beat New Jersey 5-2 to eliminate the Devils from playoff contention. Tyler Bertuzzi scored twice for the Leafs, who have won three in a row.

In other NHL action, Montreal routed Philadelphia 9-3, Florida blanked Ottawa 2-0 and Calgary beat San Jose 3-2 in overtime. Edmonton hosts Vegas and Vancouver welcomes Arizona as part of a three-game schedule tonight.

Bichette's blast leads Jays over Mariners

Bo Bichette hit a two-run homer in the third inning as the Toronto Blue Jays beat the Seattle Mariners 5-3 on Tuesday at Rogers Centre for their second win in a row and their first series win of the season.

The Jays look for the sweep of the three-game set this afternoon with Yusei Kikuchi on the mound.
