The Swift Current Broncos rode a strong penalty kill to a 4-2 pre-season win over the Edmonton Oil Kings Sunday night.

Swift Current killed off all 11 Oil King power plays while Adam Lowry and Andy Blanke each scored shorthanded. It was one of two goals for Lowry who was feeling good about his game, saying it's nice to get back on the ice, and to get a win, even in pre-season, it's a good feeling in the dressing room.

Lowry added about their strong penalty kill that they were keeping it simple and just getting pucks out of harm's way, goalie Austin Smith made a few key saves, and they were able to pressure them down the ice to create a few turnovers and capitalize on them.

Shea Howorko had the other Bronco goal.

Austin Smith made 21 saves to pick up the win, and said he felt confident and releaxed in the game, adding after playing and practicing a full year last season, he felt really comfortable.

Swift Current is back in action this afternoon at 3pm against the Red Deer Rebels, and their next pre-season home game is  Friday night against Saskatoon.
