The Swift Current Broncos made some noise yesterday announcing the Hunter Brothers will be included in their regular season home opener festivities next weekend.

The five brothers from Shaunavon will perform the national anthem ahead of puck drop between the visiting Lethbridge Hurricanes and the Broncos.

"We want to make this a really fun atmosphere and big energy for the home opener," Swift Current Broncos Broadcast and Community Relations Manager Mat Barrett said. "Super excited for that."

Four of the five Hunter brothers played major junior hockey, with Luke once wearing the C on his chest while playing for the Broncos. JJ also reached the WHL playing for Kelowna and Prince Albert, while Dustin and Brock played Jr. A.

Since their playing days, they've traded in their hockey sticks for musical equipment collecting 21 Saskatchewan Country Music Awards since 2017.

"Anyone in the area that likes country music knows who the Hunter Brothers are, that's for sure," Barrett said. "They're pretty famous around this area."

The Broncos will also host a pre-game tailgate party featuring live music from Jesse Genns and the Outlaw Party to enjoy while a BBQ and kids zone will also be set up.
