For the second straight day, the Swift Current Broncos were on the wrong end of a strong third-period push.

After surrendering six unanswered goals in the final frame to lose 7-3 to the Brandon Wheat Kings on Tuesday, Swift Current allowed two to the Winnipeg ICE in a 4-2 loss Wednesday night.

The Broncos and ICE were scoreless after 20 minutes of play, and stayed tied after 40 minutes thanks to goals from Raphael Pelletier and Hayden Ostir to answer ICE forwards Jakin Smallwood and Jackson Leppard.

However, Peyton Krebs put home his first of the season 1:57 into the third period on the powerplay, before Isaac Johnson made it a two-goal ICE lead with 3:34 to play.

Swift Current's scoreless first and third periods saw a combined nine shots put on the board, though with just 16 overall on the game.

Isaac Poulter was relatively busy at the other end, turning aside 32 of 36 in the Broncos' crease.

Swift Current falls to 6-17-1-2 on the season. They face a tough test on home ice Friday when they take on the 17-6-1-0 Everett Silvertips at the Innovation Credit Union iPlex.
