The Swift Current Broncos opened the WHL pre-season with two wins over the Moose Jaw Warriors.

Josh Filmon had a four-point night with a goal and three assists as the Broncos edged the Warriors 5-4 on Friday night in the Friendly City. Brady Birnie picked up a couple of goals for the Broncos while Tyson Yaremko and Grayson Burzynski also scored. Reid Dyck made 24 saves for the win.

On Saturday at InnovationPlex, goaltender Joey Rocha made 30 saves to lead the Broncos to a 3-1 win over Moose Jaw to sweep the home-and-home. Ty Coupland, Rylan Gould and Connor Hvidston had goals for Swift Current.

The Broncos travel to Estevan for a neutral site game against the Regina Pats on Tuesday night before returning home to face the Medicine Hat Tigers on Friday. Swift Current will wrap up the pre-season on Saturday in the Gas City before opening the regular season at home against the Calgary Hitmen on September 23.
