The start to the WHL regular season for the Swift Current Broncos is just over 48 hours away.

First up on the schedule is a home-and-home series against the Lethbridge Hurricanes that begins Friday night.

Broncos left winger Clarke Caswell is excited to square off with a familiar team on opening night.

"It's always a challenge playing someone in your division," he said. "I think the great thing about it is we play them a lot so we know their structure and who their top guys are so we need to be familiar with that and counter it the best way we can."

Swift Current and Lethbridge will conclude the mini-series back at the Innovation iPlex on Saturday night.

"The crowd in Swift Current is great," he said. "They pack the iPlex almost every game. It definitely feels like a playoff game every night and that support just drives us."

The Broncos have added a few different elements for their fans for the home opener including a tailgate party before the big game and a Canadian national anthem performed by Shaunavon's Hunter Brothers.

"We really want to build up that excitement for this team," Swift Current Broncos Broadcast and Community Relations Manager Mat Barrett said. "Really it's going to be a lot of fun to kick off our regular season."

The Eagle 94.1 will have all 68 regular season Broncos games this year including the opening puck drop of the season on Friday night at 7 p.m. live from the ENMAX Centre.
