More than 13-thousand head of cattle moved through Saskatchewan auction markets during the last week of September.

That was a slight increase from the previous week.

Analyst Sandy Russell says with cows making their way home from summer pasture, the number of calves coming to market should increase significantly.

Feeder cattle prices were generally lower last week, with lighter calves going against the trend.

Fed cattle prices were unchanged in Saskatchewan.

Slaughter cows traded one dollar per hundredweight higher.
