Charges have been laid after millions of dollars worth of cocaine were seized in a traffic stop on Friday.

RCMP arrested 23-year-old Troy Swanson of Vernon, BC, after he was stopped for a traffic violation while he was driving along Highway 1 westbound near Waldeck.  Police say a search of the car, a 2010 Ford Fusion, turned up 151kg of cocaine, which has a street value of $6.5 million.  Both the drugs and car were seized by police.

In Swift Current Provincial Court yesterday, Swanson was charged with possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking.  He will remain in custody until his next court date on Wednesday, April 7th.

RCMP are continuing their investigation.
