The Chinook School Division tabled their annual report at their last board meeting.

Director of Education Liam Choo-Foo says one of the things that stood out is the continued success of their Math Momentum program.

"Over the course of the 2012-13 year, we saw that we had a seven per cent increase with the number of students achieving at grade level," he adds. "That brings us to a two-year total of 18% as an increase."

Choo-Foo says the board set a goal of a 25% increase over four years, and they feel they are well on their way toward that.

He adds their Balanced Literacy Initiative is also seeing success.

"We've seen continued improvement as we now have over 86% reading at grade level in Grade 3," he added.

Choo-Foo adds in terms of capital, some of the highlights were the groundbreaking of Ecole Centennial School and renovations at Fairview School in Swift Current, and a major roof replacement project in Maple Creek.

The report has been sent to the provincial Ministry of Education for approval.
