The municipal election will be held on November 9th and in conjunction with that the Chinook School Division will be looking to fill the seats on their board

Chinook has recently put out a call for nominations for board members as Chief Financial Officer for Chinook, Rod Quinton explains.

"The city runs the election process for the school division in subdivision 8. So actually all ten of our board are up for re-election but the actual bolt in the managing of the actual process is done by the city for subdivision 8 which is three trustees."

Quinton details why mail-in ballots will be an option this year.

"We're trying to find ways to be more inclusive and better engage potential voters. We realize that there are some challenges that are perhaps related to the pandemic or people may not feel comfortable attending a polling station. We also are aware of the date November 9th being potential for bad weather."

Nominations will be accepted until October 7th.

Nomination forms can be found on the Chinook School Board website www.chinooksd.ca
