For the third year in a row the Salem Lutheran Church in Shaunavon is running their Christmas Hamper Campaign as a way to help families in need at Christmas time.

Last Christmas the Salem Lutheran Church delivered 47 food hampers to those in need around Shaunavon.

Based on need, people are able to apply for a hamper themselves, or people are able to submit an application for someone else.

"There's no qualifications at all, just based on need," said Organizer Kim Anderson, "basically we collect non-perishable food items from our collection boxes in town, and then they're divided into different categories, depending on how many people in the household and whatnot, and this year they will be delivered December 13th in the morning."

If you are interested in donating, you can get in touch with the Salem Lutheran Church.

"They can just bring their food items to the collection boxes, right now I know there will be one at the Shaunavon Co-op, and at the Bargain Shop.  Also we have people that are holding events, like a Christmas Party, and people will bring donations, and we can bring a collection box to the venue, and pick it up afterwards."

The deadline to apply for a hamper is December 7th, and donations will be accepted until December 11th.
