Both the Swift Current Comprehensive High School Colts and Ardens will be taking home silver medals from SHSAA 5A Provincial Volleyball Championships in Prince Albert.

The Ardens went 3-1 in pool play with wins over Regina Campbell, Saskatoon Tommy Douglas and Saskatoon St. Joseph, with their only loss to Prince Albert St. Mary. They then defeated Weyburn in straight sets in the quarter-final before beating Campbell in the semi-final in straight sets to set up the gold medal final against St. Mary, which the Ardens lost 20-25, 15-25 to take home the silver.

The Colts also went 3-1 in pool play, opening with a three-set loss to Saskatoon Holy Cross before picking up straight-set wins over Saskatoon Aden Bowman, Prince Albert Carlton and Regina LeBoldus. After finishing first in their pool, the Colts defeated Warman in three sets in the quarter-final and then beat Regina Winston Knoll in the semi-final. The Colts were denied a provincial gold three-peat with a three-set loss to Prince Albert St. Mary (19-25, 25-22, 14-16) to get the silver medal.

Maple Creek competed in 3A girls' provincials in Indian Head, where they went 1-4 in pool play with a win over Osler VCA and losses to Kipling, Waldheim and Lanigan. Their season came to an end with a straight-sets loss to Oxbow in the quarter-final.

Fox Valley and Frontier advanced out of 1A Boys' Regionals in Marengo and will head to Annaheim for provincials next weekend. The two teams faced each other in the final, where Fox Valley defeated Frontier in straight sets.

Ponteix hosted 2A boys' regionals and placed second with pool play wins over Regina Harvest City and LCBI, a semi-final win over Kincaid, and a loss to Moose Jaw Cornerstone in the final. Ponteix will host 2A boys' provincials next weekend and had already qualified as the hosts.

Shaunavon was in Assiniboia for 3A boys' regionals and split their pool play games with a win over Outlook and a loss to Unity. They lost to Assiniboia in the playoffs, but qualified for Provincials as the third seed in the regional tournament and will head to Unity next weekend.
