Changes are coming for a set of apartments in Swift Current.

During Monday night's city council meeting, an application was put forward to update some existing condominiums in Swift Current, located at 825 Gladstone Street East.

Presenting the matter to council was the City of Swift Current's General Manager of Planning and Development, Marty Salberg.

"In 2012, D3 Developers Inc. began construction of a phased multi-unit development on the south side near the Swift Current Creek," shared Salberg. "Phases one and two created four eight-plex apartment-style units."

Those units formed the Chinook Residency Condominiums. Two of those are now being purchased by Emerald Delta Limited Partnership.

The Partnership is planning to dissolve the condo status and retain ownership of the sixteen units under a single fee simple title.

"The remaining two buildings will continue their condo ownership," said Salberg.

To achieve these changes, plans for a proposed subdivision change were put forward. The changes would affect Condo Plan 102214145, creating two parcels from the two-acre site.

"Buildings one and two will continue to be part of the condo plan," iterated Salberg. "Which will now be a 0.7-acre lot."

The third and fourth buildings will be located within the new 1.3-acre Parcel J, and then purchased by the Partnership.

One comment received upon review of this plan was that the existing facilities and easements were to be maintained, relocated or terminated at cost to the developer, and new facilities and easements may be required under a servicing agreement with the developer.

Council had no objections after clarification, and the plans were approved. With that approval, the sale can proceed further now, if they choose to fully commit.
