Innovation Credit Union has donated $10,000 to the Children's Hospital Foundation by supporting the Forever for the Kids reception in August.

With the donation being put towards the "Child Life Zone" at Saskatchewan's new children's hospital, a special performance by Garth Brooks will also take place at the reception.

“This province has done such an exceptional job of donating to the Children’s Hospital Foundation,” said Innovation CEO Dan Johnson in a press release yesterday. “It will definitely be a facility we can all take pride and ownership of, and what a privilege to have the chance to assist in Saskatchewan children receiving the best in health care.”

Associate Vice President of Marketing and Strategic Intelligence for the Credit Union, Darla Lindbjerg, says as a thank you for the patronage of their members, they will be giving away two reception tickets.

"Basically, you're automatically entered to receive an entry into the draw, and you can do that by completing certain transfers and deposits. For example, an interac e-transfer, or a deposit anywhere, or using the mobile app, paying a bill online through our online banking system, pressing a statement, or opening a freestyle no-fee account, any of those actions will get you automatically entered into the draw for those tickets."

Charities can apply online for funding of events or sponsorship through Innovation Credit Union, and Lindbjerg says they pride themselves on giving back to their communities.

"We take all of those requests, and last year we actually gave out over $470,000 to the community -  almost $472,000 to our community," she said. "We also gave out over $28,000 in scholarships and spirit awards to help the youth who are going onto other educational opportunities, and we had over 12,000 hours in volunteer hours from our Credit Union staff, so the organization as a whole is really engaged in the community."

Members are eligible for an entry in the draw between July 20th and August 16th, with the draw being made on August 17th.
