The Saskatchewan Crop Insurance Strike is over.

The provincial government announced that they have reached a tentative agreement with SGEU, which represents SCIC employees. The deal includes a 5.5% wage increase over three years retroactive to October 2009.

The agreement needs to be ratified by members.

This ends a labour dispute that has been in effect since Tuesday, ahead of a planned recall of the legislature for the government to table back-to-work legislation to end the dispute.

In a statement made shortly after the deal was reached, Premier Brad Wall thanked the bargaining teams with both the government and SGEU for ending the strike, and added the legislature will not be recalled on Monday.
