The Cypress Health Region is calling all volunteers in and around Swift Current to attend their Appreciation Tea at the Cypress Regional Hospital today.

From 2pm to 4pm, volunteers can stop by to see presentations of appreciation, and just to enjoy one another's company.

"It is going to be an event held for those volunteers who provide assistance in and around Swift Current area, not only at our long term care facilities, and the regional hospital but also through our homecare program, community health services, Meals on Wheels program etc," said Bryce Martin, Executive Director of Communications for Cypress Health. "It's a small and simple way to say thank you to our volunteers who provide so much of their time and so much of their skill to making the lives of the folks we provide care for just a bit better everyday."

Each year the Cypress Health Region receives support from more than 2,000 volunteers for programs and functions that include: Meals on Wheels, long term care activity helpers, spiritual care, flu clinics, auxiliaries, transportation, dental and wellness clinics, the Parent Mentoring Program, Kiwanis Clowns, and more.

Many of these programs rely heavily on volunteer support and would not be possible without the dedication of community members.

"The organizers really want to emphasize the fact that this is more of a come and go tea, so that everyone does not have to make themselves available at 2 o'clock, it's just a little token of appreciation for the folks that give so much to us," said Martin.

Stop by Conference Room #1 at the hospital, volunteers are encouraged to register by calling Eunice at 306-778-5206 as soon as they can.
