(Bula Ghosh immigrated to Canada in 1981)

Swift Current resident Bula Ghosh was recently one of the recipients of the Sovereign's Medal for Volunteers. The medal is the only medal for volunteerism given by the governor general of Canada.
Ghosh is the current president of the Southwest Multicultural Association, and also teaches English at Great Plains College. She's also very passionate about promoting literacy and the importance of good reading, communication, and comprehension skills.
As an new immigrant to Canada 36 years ago, Ghosh knows the challenges of getting settled in a new country and helps new comers make that transition as well.
For her dedication, Bula gets this weeks eagle applause and a gift card from Schultz's Ranch Country Meats in Morse. Keep up the good work Bula!!
