It was recorded as the sixth hottest July on record with a mean air temperature of 21.2 degrees Celsius.

Agri-Meteorolgy Technician at SPARC, Doug Judeisch, says that in addition to the warm temperatures, the Southwest experienced a lot of sunshine during the month and received lower than average precipitation.

July was the 31st driest month on record.

Judeisch adds that August generally tends to be the driest of the summer months.
