Last week, Dolly Parton took to Twitter to respectfully state that she does not want Tennessee Legislature to pass the bill that would result in a statue of her on the State Capitol Grounds.

In her response Dolly thanked Tennessee Legislature for their consideration, however she continued to explain, "Given all that is going on in the world, I don't think putting me on a pedestal is appropriate at this time."

Parton concluded her statement by writing, "I hope, though, that somewhere down the road several years from now or perhaps after I'm gone if you still feel I deserve it, then I'm certain I will stand proud in our great State Capitol as a grateful Tennessean. In the meantime, I'll continue to try to do good work to make this state proud."

In response to her down to earth rejection for a statue of herself, fans have taken to twitter to express their love for the singer with many stating that her humble attitude is why she does deserves to have a statue.
