Eastend's Jace Egland scored twice in the second period and added an assist to help the Swift Current Home Hardware U18 AAA Legionnaires to a 6-4 win over the Warman Wildcats on Sunday at Innovationplex.

Kade Stringer opened the scoring on the power play and Kayd Ruedig added another goal to give the Legionnaires a 2-0 lead midway through the first period. Kaleb dewar got Warman on the board at 4:51 of the second period, but Connor Rieger made it 3-1 for Swift Current at the 8:38 mark. Connor Bear then cut the Wildcats' deficit to 3-2 at the 14:00 mark of the middle frame before Egland scored back-to-back unassisted markers to give the Legionnaires a 5-2 lead after 40 minutes. Cade Hynd and Jack Janzen scored in the third period for Warman while Jackson Fox sealed the victory with an empty-netter.

Berney Weston made 39 saves as the Wildcats outshot Swift Current 43-31.

The Legionnaires (11-4-1) will host the Notre Dame Hounds in their next game on Tuesday night.
