Haggis will be served and pipes will be played coming up this Saturday night at the Swift Current Legion in honor of Robbie Burns.

Neil McCrie a member of the Green Brae's Pipes and Drums provides details on the night's program.

"We'll have a supper, we'll have some entertainment with Scottish dancing and some piping. And then there will be social dancing for everyone afterward."

McCrie provides some history on Robert Burns, saying that he was a famous poet from Scotland who died tragically at a young age and a group of his supporters decided to get together to honor him, and thus Robbie Burns Night was created.

McCrie details how those interested can get tickets.

"Tickets are available at Pharmasave, they won't be available at the door unless you want to come later. If you want to come for the social dancing you can come afterward."

The family-friendly event takes place beginning at 5:30 pm and tickets are available for $40.
