Everything is coming together for a busy weekend in the region, with all of Saturday’s events in Swift Current part of the city’s “Come Together” celebration.
Sidewalk Days continues downtown
Many businesses in downtown Swift Current are putting on sidewalk sales and other special events on Friday and Saturday, and Market Square will be a part of it on Saturday with its regular features, including vendors, the farmer’s market and live entertainment.

Swift Current hosts 13U Westerns
The Swift Current 13U 57’s will host seven other teams from four provinces this weekend for the Baseball Canada 13U National Western Championship.

Saskatchewan Open Disc Golf Tournament
Swift Current’s new disc golf course will host the Saskatchewan Open tournament with professional, amateur and junior players taking part.

Riverside Beer Festival
In conjunction with the disc golf tournament, Lucky Charlies Pub & Pool and Nightjar Diner Co. are hosting the Riverside Beer Festival featuring several local Saskatchewan breweries and local food vendors. All ages are welcome to attend.

Eliminators Car Club Riverside Run
The Eliminators Car Club will hold their 42nd annual Riverside Run show ‘n’ shine with a wide variety of classic cars and other special interest vehicles on display.

Rusty Cage Fun Run returns
Motorcycle enthusiasts will be taking part in the Rusty Cage Fun Run to raise money for local charities while honouring their fellow fallen riders

A wide variety of food trucks will compete to fill your stomach for Food Truck wars at Kinetic Park this weekend.

Takin’ it to the Streets Concert
The annual Takin’ it to the Streets concert presented by Bumper to Bumper and Armstrong Implements will be going country this year with Duane Steele, Karissa Hoffart and Gord Bamford performing a high-energy outdoor concert.

Celebrate Maple Creek
The town of Maple Creek will be having a big community celebration of their own on this weeked with Celebrate Maple Creek, formerly Taste of Maple Creek, with events including a fly-in breakfast, classic car show, kids’ activities, live music and more!

Great Southwest Shakespeare Festival wraps up

Drive-in Fun Run in Kyle
The Kyle and District Recreation Board is hosting the first-ever Drive-In Fun Run with classic cars lining Centre Street before the fun moves to the Clearwater Drive-in for a special screening of the 1978 drive-in classic Grease (rated PG).
When: Friday, August 19 with the car show from 4:00 to 7:30 and the movie starting at 9:00pm.
