A majority of Canadian farmers see themselves as part of the solution when it comes to conserving wildlife habitat.

According to a Wildlife Habitat Canada survey, 70% of producers are willing to implement practices which would help conserve the environment.

President, David Brackett, says the challenge is ensuring farmers have the necessary information available to them.

Brackett notes nearly 80% of respondents said proper financial incentives would convince them to move forward with a project that would help conserve the environment.

The same percentage said higher prices for commodities produced with sound environmental practices would be the biggest incentive.
