Four of Hazlet's staple organizations will be supported through the Hazlet Showcase fundraiser on Friday, April 12.

Hazlet Regional Park, Hazlet Rink, Hazlet Hall, and the Hazlet Economic Development Committee are the local groups that will receive the proceeds.

Lindsay Alliban, Hazlet economic development officer, is thrilled to get together with friends and neighbours for some fun and to support the groups.

"All of these groups offer services to our community members, residents, and the surrounding community," said Alliban, "So giving them a bit of a boost of fundraised dollars allows them to continue on some of the projects they're working on and continue offering those services."

The evening will include local art and craft items on display, a steak supper, silent and live auctions, and a comedy show from local entertainer, Dan McEachern.

"We usually host a fundraiser every year, but it's mostly just been one organization doing it," Alliban said. "Getting volunteers can be difficult and we all kind of repeat on different committees in our community so we decided it might be a good idea to host this together as one large annual fundraiser.

"It shows how well our community collaborates and it draws in more people and more volunteers," added Alliban.

Interested parties can purchase tickets at the Hazlet Post Office or online at hazletsk.ca, with prices of $60 per person or $600 for a table of ten.
