frontierdays

It was a warm one, but the Swift Current Ag & Ex has wrapped up another successful Frontier Days weekend.

This year's Frontier Days featured many things, such as three CCA Rodeo events, West Coast Amusements, grand stand entertainment and a parade that had over 100 entries.

Event Development Coordinator with the Ag & Ex, Lenora Bells, said one of the most popular events was the Knights of Valour Jousting, which they are thinking of bringing the event back next year.

"It seemed to go over really well. We know that it was new to the southwest area here, and we would love to hear people's opinions of what they think. It's definitely something that would be brought back. It was well attended, and I think everyone enjoyed it," she said. "I think this year's Frontier Days was a real winner. Even though it was very hot, we still had a number of patrons come out here and enjoy the entertainment, livestock, the light horse, the midway rides, and the parade and pancake breakfast. All of the events that were going on were really appreciated by everyone who attended."

The three day CCA Rodeo events also went over very well, and included some special presentations according to Bells. "We had wonderful things happening there with our rodeo committee. Our parade marshal, Blaine Switzer, was presented with a CCA Gold Card, which is something that we really want to celebrate. We also want to celebrate all of our contestants, and all the stock, and all the people involved. It was very entertaining."

Bells says it was successful all around from the barns right through to the midway, adding that the steer sale results will be published soon.
