The hosts of this year's Memorial Cup are also the champions.

       The Vancouver Giants defeated Medicine Hat in yesterday's final 3-1.  Micheal Repik scored the game-winner midway through the third period to break a 1-1 tie.  The Giants then added an empty-netter in the final minute to secure the victory.

      The Giants had lost three straight to Medicine Hat going back to the league championship series and the Memorial Cup round-robin game.  

      Giants head coach Don Hay becomes the first coach to win three Memorial Cup titles.
