It's an annual tradition during Dino Days in Eastend that brings two seasons together.

The Golf and Curl happens this weekend.

Twenty eight teams are registered for this year's event, which sees each team golf and curl once on Friday and once on Saturday. Then Saturday evening the scores are totaled to flight everyone in three different events for Sunday.

Jeff Humphrey from the organizing committee says it's a fun weekend for everyone, "I think it's just a unique event. As far as I know, there isn't anything like it to my knowledge. So, I believe that, that part of it..you know, you get the ice going in the middle of the summer."

The Golf and Curl kicks off Friday morning at ten o'clock and is a major fundraising event for the Eastend Rink Complex.

In past years the event has raised between 12 and 15,000 dollars annually.

Humphrey adds that the organizing committee would like to thank all their volunteers for their hard work and also, a special thanks to all their sponsors.
