The Shaunavon Handi Van Association has been able to purchase a Handi Van for the southwest area thanks to a large donation.

Sara Stukings is the Co-Director of the Shaunavon Handi Van Association. She says, "We have raised enough money to purchase the Van so it is now ordered, and we were very excited. We got a large donation from an estate that allowed us to have enough money to order the Van, and to get it quicker than we expected."

The Handi Van is a vehicle equipped to accommodate wheelchairs and walkers, and it comes with a safe and convenient lift that makes it possible for people who require assistance to get around easier. It will be made available to anyone needing it around the southwest.

Stukings says the Handi Van will cost between 80 and $100,000 and, depending on production time, should be here and ready to use this fall.

The Association is still welcoming donations that would go towards license plates, insurance and gas for the Van.

You can drop off your donation at the Shaunavon Hospital and Care Center.
