A four-level play structure packed with obstacles and slides opened for the first time this weekend in the Swift Current Mall. 

Haidee Mangalonzo, Marketing Advisor for Swift Fun Park, said that the initial reaction from parents and children alike was extremely positive. 

“Parents are very excited, they love the idea that there is this indoor facility now here in Swift Current,” she stated. “This is a welcome development for the local community here. Both parents, grandparents and the children themselves are very happy that we have this on site.” 

This weekend marked the soft launch of the PlayZone, which is a four-level structure loaded with different obstacles. 

A second area, The ExploreZone, will feature a ball pit, interactive floor games, and more. The ExploreZone is scheduled to open in the new year. 

Mangalonzo added that the structure brings a new resource to Swift Current. 

“This mall has been under new management, so they studied all the needs of the locals,” she explained. “What are their wishes to improve the mall experience and all that. One of the things that came up is an indoor playground or an entertainment facility.  

“So, this is something that the management thinks is family friendly and something that would create more life, and make the mall more vibrant again, full of life with all the kids running around, happy faces from the parents and the kids, something like that.” 

Individuals are able to sign up for one or two hours of play online or in person. 

The PlayZone is open Monday to Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday from 12 p.m. to 4:50 p.m.
