A 26-year-old Herbert man, charged in connection with a high-speed pursuit, has consented to remain in police custody until his next court appearance.
Miles Luke James faces charges of assault with a weapon, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, flight from police, and two breaches of probation.
The pursuit took place on Thursday, September 18th at around 12:30 in the morning.
It had started in Swift Current, continued to the rural area, and then to the #1 Highway travelling eastbound in the westbound lane from Swift Current. The pursuit ended in Swift Current after the truck ran over two spike belts.
James sustained a gunshot wound during the incident and was transported to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
He has since been released from the hospital and will appear in court again on Wednesday, October 8th.
