The damage to Highway 4 south of Cadillac caused by spring flooding in 2023 has almost been completely repaired.

The washout occurred just south of the village on April 11, 2023, with the province constructing a temporary one-lane detour in May

Construction on a permanent fix began on September 5, 2023, with four new culverts installed in the fall allowing the road to be reopened.

All that remains for the project is the resurfacing of the area, which is expected to happen shortly with a projected completion date according to the Highway Hotline of May 15.

"It might be some short-term inconvenience, but it is for some long-term benefit to our transportation system which supports our export-based economy," Dan Palmer, a spokesperson for the Saskatchewan Ministry of Highways, said.
