The air conditioners were running and the cold beverages were flowing in the southwest yesterday.

Swift Current hit 30 degrees yesterday, which was above the normal high of 26 degrees but short of the record high of 36.7 that was set 68 years ago.

Maple Creek was the province's hot spot yesterday, reaching 32 degrees; that's two degrees shy of the record high of 34.8 that was set in 2004.

A high of 26 degrees is expected today, and showers and high winds are in the forecast for tomorrow.  We should see temperatures creep toward the 30s again later this week.
