A trio of second-period goals by the Winnipeg Ice appeared to be too much for the Swift Current Broncos to overcome earlier this evening.

Four Ice forwards recorded multi-point outings, with left winger Michael Milne leading the way scoring once and adding two assists in the 5-2 win over Swift Current.

"We didn't have any energy, any life whatsoever," Broncos Assistant Coach Brandin Cote said. "When you can't penetrate the offensive zone and get some offensive zone time it's tough and then you're back in your end a lot.

Centreman Carter Stebbings led the Broncos offensive attack recording an assist on both Owen Williams' first period goal and Caleb Wyrostok's second period tally.

Broncos goaltender Isaac Poulter may have allowed five goals against, however, he was battered with 45 shots from the potent Ice offence.

"Probably our only bright spot was Isaac tonight," Cote said. "He played fantastic, kept us in it, gave us a chance."

The other Ice goal scorers included a pair from Zachary Benson, one from Vegas Golden Knights first-round draft pick Peyton Krebs, and one from James Form.

That concludes the final matchup between the Broncos and Ice this season with Winnipeg winning the four-game season series 3-1 outscoring Swift Current 20-17.

Next up for the Broncos is another day game in Regina's Eastern Division hub on Wednesday against the 15-3-2 Brandon Wheat Kings.
