SGI has introduced tougher penalties for impaired driving.

Drivers who fail a field sobriety test will have their license immediately suspended for 24 hours. A similar penalty will be issued to person who refuses a sobriety test.

For those with a blood alcohol content greater then .04 more than once in a five-year period, a 15-day suspension will be issued.
