When the Credit Union Iplex was renovated in 2007 cost overruns meant that some of the renovations had to be delayed. The Administration put together a three-phase plan to get the remaining work completed.

Phase I Have the Installation of an elevator and corridor and minor kitchen upgrades. Phase II is the addition of a small conference room, meeting room, public gathering space and washrooms in the upper atrium. Phase III is the skating

area floor slab.

Phase I was completed in 2010 for the world curling except for the kitchen upgrades that were minor and have been completed in-house over time. Phase II was just approved and Phase III is in the design Phase and should begin after

the Broncos regular hockey season and playoff run is over.

The Budget was originally approved at $250,000 but tenders came in above the budget. The administration worked with the lowest bidder to see if cost savings could be utilized. Frontier Construction Initial tender was just over $337,000.

When they looked at what was currently in the structure they could see redundancies that were asked for in the tender.

Once they were eliminated the tender was adjusted to the budget.
