You’ll hear about it a lot during the summer months.

Many people wonder just how the UV Index works.

The UV Index is a reflection of the power of the sun and how it affects your skin.

Bob Cormier, Meteorologist with Environment Canada, says that you should limit sun exposure during the hours of 10am and 2pm as that’s when UV rays are often at their highest.

Cormier adds that the UV Index will be at eight or very high today and advises everyone to wear sunscreen with an SPF of at least 15 to prevent sun burns.
