Heavy wind gusts hit parts of the southwest yesterday, and seem to have played a part in a large cooling unit tipping over last night.

Bob Neufeld, the Reeve for the RM of Swift Current, lives right by the TransCanada (Highway 1), and saw it all go down.

Neufeld said it happened a mile west of Swift Current on Highway 1 as the unit exited Transport City to get onto the highway.

He added that the west lane of the highway was closed around 1 a.m. this morning, and traffic was rerouted onto the North Service Road. He said traffic was back to normal by 3 a.m. once large cranes lifted the cooling unit onto the truck.
