MLA Serge LeClerc spoke to middle and high school students yesterday about his personal struggle with drug and alcohol abuse, along with the choices and pressures facing teens today.

It was the second presentation put on by the Swift Current and Area Drug Task Force.

Jon Duncan, a Grade 11 student at Maverick High School, really enjoyed the presentation.  "I think it was great.  I think the perspective that he has from being an ex-drug dealer really gives him a different view," said Duncan.  "I think, if any other speaker tried to do this, it wouldn't work as well, because he has the inner-city experience and was an ex-gang leader.  It really shows that no matter how far you go in one direction, you can always go back."

Duncan adds that he could relate to Serge's presentation, and thinks the presentation will affect others as well.
