The Town of Cabri had a large influx of hockey talent today.

The Swift Current Legionnaires arrived in the community, taking over the SWT Arena hockey rink for a practice skate.

Running drills, taking practice shots, and feeling out the gaps in their skillset are all useful, considering the Legionnaires are looking to take on the Prince Albert Mintos in game five of play-off action. That game will be tomorrow, at 4:15 p.m. in the InnovationPlex.

The team was energetic, effective, and eager to take on tomorrow's challenges. The team was energetic, effective, and eager to take on tomorrow's challenges.

Kade Stringer, captain of the Legionnaires, hopes the small-town atmosphere of the practice can help them keep a cool head for the big game.

"We came out for a little skate just to get the blood flowing," said Stringer. "Working the power play a little bit."

Game five tomorrow night will need all their efforts to culminate, as they have had to battle back from being down in the series to get there.

"I think being back in our barn for game five is huge," said Stringer. "Getting that home ice was something we worked for all season, so that was pretty big for us."

The SWT Arena was also serving burgers to anyone who came by for the lunch time practice. The SWT Arena was also serving burgers to anyone who came by for the lunch time practice.

Any junior teams that attend the game wearing their jerseys can be entered to win a pizza party. Tickets for the general public are $10 each.
