Volunteers help answer phones at Telemiracle 37 in Saskatoon last year

Final preparations are being made for Telemiracle 38, which is set to go live from Regina Saturday night, and a large contingent from Swift Current will be making the trip.

"We have 26 Kin members from Swift Current, and also 16 other people coming, whether it be spouses or kids, so 42 in total," said local Kinsmen member Kris Stusrud. "They'll be doing anything from security to answering phones right there on TV, and there are also numerous phones down in the basement of the Conexus Arts Centre."

The Kinsmen and Kinettes will be making an on-stage presentation at around 2:20pm Sunday afternoon, and will unveil the results from their fundraising over the past couple of months.

"We're looking at well over $8600 from just one project, so you can expect a good donation coming from the Swift Current Kin clubs," Stusrud added.

Two local performers will also be taking the stage at the 20-hour telethon. Becky Neustaeter is scheduled to be on stage at 8:00am Sunday morning, and the Central School Choir will be on at 2:30pm that afternoon.

Telemiracle 38 starts Saturday night at 9:00pm and continues to Sunday afternoon at 5:00pm on CTV.
