The Swift Current 57's came within a couple of outs shy of picking up a win in Medicine Hat Friday night.

Mavericks centre fielder Jackson Woolwine's walk-off RBI single in the bottom of the ninth inning with two outs helped Medicine Hat complete a 4-3 comeback victory.

57's starting pitcher Kenny Jinks had five strikeouts across seven shutout innings while only surrendering three hits and three walks, however, he was saddled with a no-decision. Both centre fielder Cory Bonstrom and Ethan Murdoch led the way for Swift Current offensively with three singles each.

Bonstrom opened the scoring in the first inning on an Ethan Gonzalez ground out.

Bonstrom scored again in the top of the third inning for Swift Current off a single by Gonzalez.

Murdoch stretched the lead to 3-0 for the 57's cashing in shortstop Carter Hinds with an RBI single.

Medicine Hat cut the deficit to 3-2 in the bottom of the eighth when Brody Gardner hit a two-run triple off reliever, Matt Williams.

The Mavericks scored another pair of runs in the bottom of the ninth including the walk-off win.

Swift Current is now 2-4 on the season and will be in Brooks tomorrow and Sunday to play the 1-4 Bombers.
