Our province is undergoing more changes in the liquor and gaming field.

Groups and organizations that raise money through charitable gaming may soon be using electronic technology to conduct bingo's and raffles.

A number of policies have been modernized in the charitable gaming area.

Full Interview with Donna Harpaur"One will be, that should a bingo hall decide to participate they can now use the hand held devices rather then the traditional paper endeavor, so that's one modernization we will be allowing for bingo halls," said Donna Harpaur, the Minister responsible for Saskatchewan Liquor and Gaming. "It's an important and well utilized fundraising efforts that our communities can undergo and I think well appreciated all over Saskatchewan."

Harpaur added those conducting the charitable gaming will be able to tabulate the raffle tickets online rather than manually.

In 2011/2012, the SLGA issued more than 3,400 charitable gaming licenses to groups and organizations that conduct bingo, raffles, break open ticket sales, Texas Hold em poker and Monte Carlo Events.
