The Mosquito AAA 57's were crowned as provincial silver-medallists over the weekend.

Playing in AA-division provincials in Lloydminster, Swift Current's bats ignited at the right time this season.

They opened with an 8-6 win over the Prince Albert Raiders, and earned a second-straight win with a 19-11 victory over the Weyburn Beavers.

The mercy rule came into effect in game three, a 14-1 loss to the Lloydminster Twins over just four innings.

However, the Mosquito AAA 57's rebounded after their first loss to end the group stage. They enforced the mercy rule this time around, tripling up the Moose Jaw Prairie Dogs 15-5 in a five-inning provincial semi.

With a shot at gold on the line, Swift Current ran into the host Lloydminster Twins once again.

There' the dominant Twin continued that trend, defeating the Mosquito 57's 12-2, as Swift Current managed to bring back silver to the southwest.
