Provincial NDP Leader Dwain Lingenfelter

While the May 2 Federal Election will take centre stage for the next several weeks, Saskatchewan voters will shift their attention to the Provincial Election on November 7.

The Opposition New Democrats began preparations for it this past weekend with their policy convention. Leader Dwain Lingenfelter says they approved their policy document, which includes a major housing initiative and rent controls, and also concluded that a review of potash royalties is needed, saying that the province is losing a lot of money because we are getting such a small percentage of the total gross profit, and adds they will be putting money into a bright futures fund from resource revenues for future generations.

Lingenfelter adds provincial debt is going up under the Brad Wall Government, and that will not be the case with the policies the NDP has put together.

Lingenfelter says over the next several months they will be selling their policy to Saskatchewan voters.
