The provincial election was a wake up call for the Saskatchewan NDP.  Left with just nine seats in the legislature, it was time to rebuild. But a new Insightrix poll shows support for the official opposition is dropping, in fact it's lower than it was during the election campaign.

29.4% of online respondents said they would vote for the NDP. Support was over 32 percent last fall when the same poll was conducted. The same poll showed 60.8 percent of respondents would vote Saskatchewan Party.

Trying to work through these tough times is the focus this weekend as the Saskatchewan New Democratic Party meets in Saskatoon for their annual convention. The packed agenda for the three day event included a speech from federal NDP Leader Thomas Mulcair on Friday afternoon.

Acting provincial leader John Nilson expects the party leadership to be a big topic throughout the convention. "The whole issue of leadership of the party and as we move forward, basing it on the fact that we have a group of nine very capable MLAs in the Legislature now who actually reflect the information and ideas that we get from all of the members and all of the people of the province."

The convention wraps up on Sunday.
