SaskEnergy has provided the Rate Review Panel with a market update, which includes a revised natural gas commodity rate of 6.57 cents per gigajoule.

SaskEnergy's Executive Director with Public Affairs, Ron Podbielski says the corporation tries to set a rate for November 1st, which will last for the upcoming 12 months.  He says the challenge in doing that is trying to set a stable rate while the corporation is buying gas every day.  They have to determine a fair rate in a market where prices are changing daily.

SaskEnergy does not mark up the price of gas, as natural gas is sold to Saskatchewan consumers at cost.
