For the first time since he was elected on March 1, Swift Current MLA Everett Hindley met with Mayor Denis Perrault and members of the council.

Perrault said that their first meeting with Hindley as the official MLA went really well.

"We've always had a great relationship given that he was the assistant to our Premier prior," he said. "Myself and Jerrod (former Mayor Jerrod Schafer) would meet monthly with our MLA or most of the times it was Everett."

The meeting took place at city hall and gave Hindley a chance to meet councillors Ron Toles, George Bowditch, Pat Friesen, and CAO Tim Marcus and for the councillors to do the same as well as ask questions.

Perrault said that overall it was a positive meeting.

"What I like most is that Everett is a really good listener," he said. "He is somebody that generally wants to do great things for his community. Something that I think him and I share. He really does want to work hard to see Swift Current grow and to see great things for our community so we've got a lot of things in common and it goes really well."

Perrault added that Hindley agreed with their growth model including their plan 50 years into the future which will be shown in the next month.
